Workshop “Artificial intelligence and other transformative technologies for the management of diabetes: A global perspective”
Diabetes is a raging pandemic worldwide, with a disproportionately large impact on low-income countries. New developments in information and communication sciences, especially those concerning artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT), have the potential to improve the prevention, opportune detection and metabolic control of diabetes. However, the successful adoption of these promising technologies will require the familiarization of all interested parts with their promises, possibilities and practical uses. Inputs from healthcare personnel, patients, relatives and the civil society are fundamental to the development of new solutions based on AI and the IoT. These topics constitute the material of this workshop.
